MCSP Bsc (Hons) 2006, Grad Dip Manual Therapy 2014, MMACP, AACP
Antonia graduated from UWE in 2006 with a First class Bsc Hons in Physiotherapy. After graduation she completed her junior rotations in a busy London teaching hospital. After completing her junior role she further expanded her interest in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal outpatients by taking a senior role in Chippenham.
To augment her interest in hands on treatment Antonia then went on to complete a 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Manual Therapy at Cardiff University. During this time she also studied for and was awarded membership to the MACP, a specialist group of physiotherapists within musculoskeletal assessment and treatment.
Recent progression of knowledge has included modular completion of Kinetic Control course in 2016. This course taught by leading Australian physiotherapist Mark Comerford focuses on analysis of uncontrolled movement patterns and helps not only to quickly and accurately identify pain causing tissue but to isolate the underlying biomechanical cause of the problem. Using these techniques in combination with manual therapy can help to not only reduce pain but to restore normal movement patterns and prevent recurrence. Further qualifications have included acupuncture and courses in treatment of chronic pelvic pain.
Antonia has a passion for travelling and before having a family used her hands on skills to work with children with cerebral palsy in Guatemala and Thailand. She now lives in Bristol with her husband and 2 boys. She has many interests including being a keen seamstress and has recently learnt how to design and print fabrics.
